The basic idea behind a book I just checked out, Tao of Birth Days, is to use your birth date to calculate a hexagram that becomes "your" hexagram; sort of like a horoscope sign. I did mine and then a bunch of friends' and families'. They all seemed somewhat accurate and at minimum they are thought provoking. Mine is Hexagram 16 - Thunder-Earth.
